Love, Amelia Corporate Volunteer Days

Love, Amelia are delighted to offer team days and volunteering opportunities to businesses who want to help a good cause.

We support children aged from birth  up to 16 years all year round by taking donations of new and pre-loved children’s clothing and equipment.  The items are donated by our community which are then sorted, cleaned and where necessary, safety checked, to ensure they are ready to be re-homed to families in need.

We often need additional hands to help us with these tasks which is where a team of corporate volunteers can play a vital role!

How to get involved:

If your company offers paid volunteering days, or you are part of a team who want to support families in our community, we would love to hear from you. Get in touch with us and arrange your corporate volunteer day by completing the form below

In-Kind Donations

If your business could gift items that can help a family in need, we would love to hear from you. We are always grateful to receive donations of sample stock, excess items or end of line goods.

What our corporate volunteers say...

Corporate Volunteering FAQ'S

Love, Amelia team volunteer days are very rewarding and provide a sense of achievement, with tasks to suit everyone.  Volunteering together can enhance team bonding as you work together to complete tasks, or challenge each other to who can complete the most tasks the quickest.  You will leave the day feeling fulfilled knowing you have helped support vulnerable children living in our community.

All volunteering takes place at Love, Amelia unit:
3 Glaholm Road, Hendon, Sunderland, SR1 2NX

There is limited parking outside of our unit which is available to volunteers.  You will need a permit which will be given to you as you arrive so please inform a member of the team if you require a permit.  Alternative parking is also available on the street leading up to our unit (Hendon Street) which does not require a permit.

Corporate volunteer sessions can take place weekdays between 10am-3pm, a well-deserved early finish after a busy day volunteering.  You do not have to commit to the full day as hours can be chosen to best suit your team

Tasks vary depending on the work which needs doing on the day.  You may be helping to sort donated clothing by age and gender or making up clothing bundles, so they are readily available to respond to a referral request.  You may be involved with sorting and checking toys to ensure they are working before being re-homed or ensuring donated prams and cots are clean and meet safety standards.

Your team are able to choose the tasks they would most like to complete, often splitting into teams to tackle more than one task throughout the session.

Volunteering with us means a day away from the office, giving you the chance to step away from formal business attire. Many tasks require you to be on your feet for much of the day, therefore we recommend comfortable shoes and clothes.  We can provide you with a Love, Amelia apron to wear during the session to help protect your clothes and make you feel part of the Love, Amelia team.

We have found that groups up to ten people works best.

We keep well stocked with tea, coffee, and cold drinks which volunteers can help themselves to throughout the session.  We recommend bringing lunch with you – you can utilise our fridge to keep food cool and use the onsite microwave or visit some nearby shops.

We do not charge for corporate volunteering sessions however, if you or your company would like to make a financial donation this would contribute to our costs and help us continually support vulnerable families in our community.
