Referrals

No child should go without – We are here to help
Love, Amelia works all year round to support vulnerable families in our community by distributing new and great quality, pre-loved items for children aged from birth up to 16 years. We can support with items including clothing, nappies, toiletries, baby equipment, toys and prams. We can also support parents/carers with items such as toiletries and maternity clothes.
Each bundle is tailored to the needs of the family – there is no one size fits all.

How it works:
We work on a referral basis which means we are not able to accept self-referrals or requests from friends or family members. We can accept referrals from professionals working families in an official capacity. This includes midwives, social workers, health visitors, welfare support, housing workers, nursery, schools, children’s centres.
If you are in need of help, please speak directly to a professional and ask they make a referral on your behalf.
There is no charge for our service but items will need to be collected from our unit in Hendon, Sunderland

The Referral Process
1. Please only complete a referral if you are a professional working directly with a family in need who live within North East England. We will not accept self referrals, or requests on behalf of friends or family.
2. Please use the online form below to submit your referral, ensuring you include all relevant information to enable to process the request quickly.
3. You will receive an email from our team confirming we have received your referral. We may need to ask further information in order to fulfil the request and will contact you on the email or phone number you provide.
4. Once you have submitted your referral, you will receive a ‘Referral form reference number’. Please keep this number handy as you may be asked for it by our team if you need to query the status of your referral or upon collection.
5. Once the referral has been carefully packed by our team, we will contact you, or the nominated person, to collect the items. Most referrals require a car upon collection to transport the items to the family. Sometimes, larger transport may be required, particularly when referring larger families or requesting larger items.
6. We kindly ask referrals are collected as soon as possible as we have limited storage space and are unable to hold them for long periods. Collecting your referral within a 48 hour timescale allows us to keep up with the high volume of families needing our help.
Referral Form
Please complete the referral form for the child / family in need. You can include requests for more than one child from the same household on the referral form. This referral form is capped at 7 children, however there is no limit on the number of children we can support. If the family you would like to refer exceeds 7 children, please contact our team via email or phone before completing and we will advise how to proceed. If you would like to refer more than one family, please ensure you submit before completing a new form.
