General Questions
We are based at 3 Glaholm Road, Hendon, Sunderland, SR1 2NX. We have parking facilities for anyone visiting us by car, please ask a member of the team for a parking permit when you visit.
We are open Monday – Friday 9am-5pm. We are closed weekends and bank holidays
We are not able to accept referrals directly from individuals or families. If you are in need of support, please contact a professional supporting you, such as a health visitor, support worker, housing officer, social worker or school, who can make a referral on your behalf.
The best way to donate items is to come along to our monthly donation days at our unit in Hendon. Check out our donations page for details of upcoming sessions
Unfortunately we are not able to offer a collection service at the moment and rely on donors kindly bringing items to us
We are unable to accept used car seats as we cannot guarantee it has not been in an accident and is completely safe to use.
We are not able to accept used mattresses for hygiene and safety concerns. We do however purchase a new mattress for every cot/cot bed/toddler bed/Moses basket we re-home.
We can not accept opened packs of nappies or toiletries for hygiene and safety concerns.
We prioritise the essential items for babies and children and therefore do not have the storage space to accept large donations of furniture.

Yes, we can accept cash donations. Please see ‘get involved /donate’ page for more information on the various ways you can support us.
All cash donations go towards helping families in our community, this may be through purchasing new items needed for bundles, or for the running costs of our unit so we can continue to provide the service.
We use cash donations to ensure every bundle we distribute is safe and complete, ready for it’s new home. For every pre-loved cot that is donated, we buy a brand-new mattress and gift it to a family alongside beautiful quality, pre-loved bedding, teddy bear and bedtime story books. We also use cash donations to purchase brand-new underwear, replace broken or missing parts on donations we receive and purchase safety gates to help children remain safe at home.
