Love, Amelia Celebrates Finalist Recognition at North East Charity Awards

For the third consecutive year, Love, Amelia had the privilege of being welcomed as a finalist at the prestigious North East Charity Awards.

This special 10th anniversary event celebrated the exceptional work of charities and voluntary organisations across the North East. We’re honored to have been named a finalist in the Small Charity of the Year category, and we are thrilled that our Chief Executive, Steph Capewell, was recognised in the Rising Star category.

The Small Charity of the Year category recognises ongoing commitment to making a meaningful difference for communities.  Judges look for charities with an annual income under £250,000 that demonstrate outstanding impact on their beneficiaries.  This award celebrates charities that make a significant, tangible impact despite operating on a smaller scale.

The Rising Star category recognises emerging leaders within charities who display exceptional dedication and potential.  Judges seek individuals who not only show a strong commitment to their organisation’s mission but also inspire others with their actions. These young leaders are celebrated for their ability to lead from the front, embodying kindness, resilience, and vision as they contribute meaningfully to their organization and the broader charitable sector.

Joined by our team, dedicated volunteers, and esteemed partners—including Tracy Hassan (Manager, Sunderland Voluntary Sector Alliance), Louise Blissett and Craig McClusky from Gentoo, and Steven Armstrong from Jewson Partnership Solutions—we celebrated a memorable evening honouring the collaborative efforts that uplift our city. Together, we recognised the impact that teamwork and partnership bring to our mission.

We are deeply grateful to the North East Charity Awards for this recognition and look forward to continuing our work to support vulnerable families and children across the region.  As we celebrate these milestones, we are motivated to keep innovating, growing, and inspiring change, one act of kindness at a time.
