We took on the Captain Tom 100 Challenge
Love, Amelia are proud to have been involved with celebrating Captain Tom’s amazing achievements in a special event over his birthday weekend. Friday 30 April would have been Captain Sir Tom’s 101st birthday and is the one-year anniversary of the extraordinary celebrations that followed the conclusion of his fundraising walk that raised an incredible £38.9 million for the NHS.
Following the outpouring of heartfelt messages since Captain Sir Tom’s death on 2 February this year, his family pledged to celebrate his life with an event that everyone around the world could get involved in to celebrate his generosity, hope and sense of fun – the Captain Tom 100.
This challenge has promoted unity in communities to help raise funds for good causes. We have loved seeing the photos and videos of challenges completed and thank everyone for taking part. An amazing £380 has been raised for Love, Amelia which will help support more families across Sunderland and South Tyneside.
Jack enjoyed his painty print challenge
Amelia’s little brother Jack took part in our painty prints challenge. Jack, with the help of his teddy bears, completed 36 painty footprints in 100 seconds. Click here to read more about our painty prints challenge and see the pictures of the little artists who got involved
Olive's 100 second silence
I am sure many parents reading this appreciate how difficult it can be for a child to be silent for any longer than a few seconds but that is exactly what 4 year old Olive decided to do for her 100 challenge. Olive was silent for 100 seconds and helped raise money for Love, Amelia through sponsors from her friends and family. A very well done to Olive!
The ultimate 100 challenge!
Reaching new heights with 100 trampoline bounces
Jack jumped at the chance of spending a sunny afternoon bouncing on the trampoline. He completed 100 big bounces for his second Captain 100 challenge. He had lots of fun and helped raise money for Love, Amelia. Well done Jack!
Well done to everyone who took on the Captain Tom 100 and contributed funds to Love, Amelia. Your financial support makes a big difference to our small charity and helps us provide families with essential items such as new mattresses for donated cots and Moses baskets, safety equipment to help reduce risk of injury at home, nappies, toiletries for babies, young children and parents. We could not do this without your support. A huge thank you on behalf of the team at Love, Amelia
