Mother’s day is the only day to officially acknowledge and celebrate the amazing Mams in our community but sadly many go without recognition. Circumstances do not always allow for buying a Mother’s Day gift, particularly when on a low income or living in poverty, living alone with little or no support networks and Mams who have been raising their children alone. Our Mother’s Day campaign helped to bring a smile to the face of local Mams as we gave a little gift for this special day.
With the support of our community, an incredible 142 pamper packs were distributed by our referral partners in time for Mother’s Day. This sends a message to all Mams that they are deserving and their community cares about them. With heightened financial worries, job losses, increased isolation, home schooling pushing parents to their limits, new Mam’s missing out on baby groups and meeting other parents, these pamper packs have been the perfect way to give Mam’s a little boost and remind them of the importance of self-care.
We are extremely grateful for the support of our community for their amazing donations which helped us create these packs. Thank you to everyone who sent products in the post, ordered from our Amazon Wishlist and contributed funds to our appeal . Thank you to Siblings Nursery for putting a collection box in their entrance and encouraged parents to donate products to be used in our packs.
We give a special thank you to our referral partners for looking after the Mam’s on their caseload and making sure they are not without the acknowledgement they deserve. They have kindly taken time out of their busy work day to help put a smile on their face and distribute the packs in time for Mother’s Day.
We also need to thank our lovely team for preparing the packs, coordinating collections and making every pack special for Mam’s to receive.
We wish all Mam’s a very happy Mother’s Day and we hope you have the calm and relaxing day you deserve.
I volunteer at a foodbank and we have several prams and buggies that are in great condition but we do not have the space. Would you be interested in them
