Christmas 2022 It's a wrap!
This year, we completed our third annual Christmas Gift Appeal and supported 927 people across Tyne and Wear and County Durham.
Our Elves here at Love, Amelia have been extremely busy this year!
Once again, we worked closely with referral partners to identify local families in need to provide them with gifts and goodies this Christmas. Each child received a large gift bag with gifts that were carefully chosen to match their Christmas wishes. We also provided a Christmas Eve bag per family, which included a selection box each for the children, a pack of biscuits for the adults, hot chocolate, a Christmas book and card and a gift for each parent or carer.
A community Effort
Our Christmas Gift Appeal brings our whole community together.
We had hundreds of parcels delivered from our Amazon wish list!
Work places and other organisations showed their support by donating money and doing large collections of gifts
We held our annual Christmas Party this year at Hope Vineyard Church in Hendon. Free tickets were offered to local children who would not have been able to attend a paid session. Each child was given the opportunity to meet Santa and received a wrapped gift. The children loved getting involved with dancing, party games and crafts with ARTventurers Sunderland West and Washington.
Both the children and adults had so much fun!
Children's Donation Day
For the second year, Santa visited our unit to greet children who kindly chose to donate some gifts to a child in need. This proves to be a great opportunity to teach children the importance of kindness and the true spirit of Christmas.
Santa assured the gifts would be taken to the North Pole and delivered on Christmas Eve!
